Brown discharge during 5th week of pregnancy

I took a blood test at the doctor and am 5 weeks pregnant.  Today, I was having cramps like I was having my period.  I have a dark brown discharge coming out.  Is this normal?  This is scaring me.  I visit my doctor in February.  This is my first pregnancy.

Hey there, prise the lord. iam in 5th week of pregnancy now, but last week i did my test at home and confirmed iam pregnant and from the day last week still today i feel pain in my lower abdomen pain and feel like expeting period any time. but day by day the pain decreasing.this is my first pregnancy. i havnt visit doctor due to my pain. is there any problem me. pls advice.

Hi i was pregnant back in july started with dark brown discharge and the found out when i was suppose to be 10 weeks along i was still at 9 weeks as showed in the ultrasound we waiting a few days to go back and check again when we went back still no heart beat and still 9 weeks so i had to do a d&c the next day ugh i think that was worst time of my life!!:(

Now 3 months later and pregnant again 5 weeks along but now i am going in every week to get blood work done to make sure everything is going like it should be I am excited but then again to go threw a miscarriage again!

I have just found out i'm pregnant after 6 months of trying, it is my first pregnancy. My period was 4 days late so i did a test, which was positive. I had sore breasts up until last week, now i don't have any symptoms. i think i am at least 5 weeks gone and i have had a couple of slightly pink spots when i go to the toilet. it happened today and happened at the end of last week but nothing major. i have had period like cramps as well but they come and go and are only mild. I haven't got an appointment until next week and i can't get any before that. I keep taking tests to make sure i'm still pregnant before then. i'm worrying myself sick, My husband and i were so excited but now i feel like somethings going to go wrong. any advice??

My LMP was 12/26/08 - positive pregnancy test - now I am having slight amount of  brown drainage discharge. Call my MD, had HCG levels check - result 402, will have recheck in two days.  I am doing a lot of internet research showing possible ectopic pregnancy or impending miscarriage.  Any thoughts? I am losing my mind.

     This was my 2nd pregnancy, couldn't do a home test but figured out that since I missed my periods which are always regular.  My 1st pregnancy ended in a m/c  a few months ago.. choromosonal issues in the 10th week. It was devastating.
This time this is how it happened. We were at a friends place playing cards sitting on the floor ... I was bending every now and then to get cards when suddenly one time my lower abdomen started having extremely acute pain. The belt of the jeans compressed in a bad angle to the lower abdomen, maybe against the uterine wall. I went to the rest room and nothing happened then, pain/real bad cramps settled down after about 30 mins. came home and went to the bathroom, saw that a big layer of moucous like tissue has been discharged. I am scared out of my wits, no pain or any more discharge after that. The nippless which were sore prior to the incident is no longer sore, what do I make out of this?

Hi, I was due on 22nd October, found positive in the test but it is light, I called my doctor. she also tested and found it is light positive!!!
But ysterday, I had light period cramps i.e lower back pain for 2 hours and there is brown discharge last night. today morning I have seen a big tissue but no cramps either back pain or stomach pain(i used to have for every period.) last month I have taken clomoid, my doctor done hydrotubation to clear my fallopian tubes(she doubted blcokages, those were clear now) and folicular study done.there are multiple eggs though!!. still is there any chances for my  pregnency? anyone experienced like this?

I have thick brown discharge instead of my period and i dont know if im pregnant. this has never really happened to me before. if anything brown blood comes at the end of my period. and my period is usually very heavy well this time it is very very very light. im kind of young and i took a pregnancy test in the way way way beginning when i thought i was pregnant about like 7 weeks ago. im afraid to tell my boyfriend cuz he gets very scared and really weird and i dont wanna put him through that again. im also having tiny cramps which also isnt normal. im usually on the bathroom floor about to die and start crying while this is just a light breeze.

in the past 7 weeks ive been having weird pains in my stomach like abdominal pain and also in my lower stomach and on the sides. rare sore back pains and ive been recently getting some headaches which i never get. no swollen sore breasts maybe rarely a throbbing pain now and then and a few slight waves of nausea and thats it. also like my acne has been acting up not like usual and my nails are strong and long also unusual.

if you have any idea what's going on with me please help me out.

Hi I would just like to say that I have found this site so reassuring in what I can only describe as one of the most worrying weeks of my life!  My LMP was 11th March and I had my 1st u/s last week thinking I was 10 wks 2 days along.  The u/s showed that my gest sac was 8 wks yet my baby was only 6 wks and there was no detectable heartbeat!  I am now waiting to go back for a 2nd u/s in a few days to see if there has been any progress but it doesn't look good for us!  Me and hubby are both devastated as this is our 1st pregnancy and the waiting is just about killing us!  In the past few days I have had dark brown discharge but with no cramps whatsoever - don't know what to think & feel like I'm losing my mind as I can't stop thinking & worrying about it all!

I would suggest a call to your doctor. It could be nothing more then implantation bleeding, but it is best to check with your doctor.

I'm at 5 weeks myself, and yesterday I woke up to a lot of dark-brown discharge. It was thick and dark. Later in the day around 3pm, I had more of this discharge, but this time there was a significant piece of tissue that didn't look like anything. It felt like jello, again dark brown.  I called my doctor and went in for blood work to check my hCG levels. It went from 102,694 (last week) to 82, 981 (yesterday). I'm now experiencing some lower back dull pain, nothing sharp. I have a scheduled ultrasound tomorrow morning.

i had brown bleeding which ended up in an eptopic pregnancy. do take it seriously cause my tube ruptured and i had my right tube removed because of it. now i only have my left tube.

I would call your doctor right away. I had the same thing and both my pregency ended up in M/C. I know your scared but stay positive.

I had brown spotting in the middle of my 6th week, and unfortunately it ended in miscarriage.

I had a light brown discharge around 11 weeks. It was a sub-chorionic hemorrhage which is a problem with the placenta attaching. It is a problem that usually corrects itself and I am now 27 weeks and everything is great. But ANY time you have bleeding or a colored discharge you should call you doctor immediately!!!! I had brown discharge my 5th week of pregnancy and I bled fairly heavy my 6th week.  Everything was ok though.  It was implantation bleeding.  I'm 13 1/2 weeks now and everything is perfect.  

I know it's scary to see brown/pink/red discharge because it could be a sign that something is wrong, but try not to worry unless you start getting severe cramping.  If it helps to ease your mind, call your Dr. to see if you can get an earlier appt.
