Brown spotting 3 weeks later?

I had my daughter 3 years ago and My period hasnt been the same since.
In the last year I have had very late periods, anywhere from 36-45 days in between periods.
Currently Its been every 36 days. Anyway I have noticed I have been having dark brown spotting and some clots 2-3 weeks after my period that last 3 days? I understand the whole old blood, new lining theory.
But it just seems odd that that long after my period having this dark blood??
What are some of the possible reasons this could be happening and should I contact my gyno?
