Brown spotting while on p pills

Hey ladies
Ive had very irregular periods since my surgery in November where I had 1 ovary + tube removed due to an ovarian cyst.
Before the surgery my periods have always been quite regular, almost always heavy 7 day periods with cycles ranging from 28-36 days, average of about 31.
Since the surgery I have been all over the place. A missing period, periods consisting of 14 days of spotting, 10 day semi heavy periods and cycles ranging from 14-40 days!
About 2 weeks ago, I got back on the yasmin p pill for some stability, both for me and my period phobia bf (lol)... but now I have been spotting for 4 days. It is inconsistent during the course of the day and vary from nothing to brown discharge to brown clots. I have never had mid cycle spotting or bleeding before, on or off the pill.

I just had a scan for cysts and it came back completely normal, so it shouldnt be messing things up.

Does anyone know why this is happening or how long it usually lasts?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,
Brown spotting can be due to ovarian problems, hormonal imbalance, stress, anxiety, crashed dieting, use of birth control pills, change in environment, excessive exercise etc. Heavy bleeding can be due to can be due to hormonal imbalance, fibroids and polyps (non cancerous growth) in the uterus, endometriosis (deposits of the inner lining of the uterus in the pelvic cavity) etc. In your case, it can be due to hormonal imbalance caused by starting the pills and should get better in a few weeks. If the spotting persists then you should get it evaluated from a gynecologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Thanks, sounds like I just have to sit it out then. I hope the next cycle will be better.
