Hey thanks for the posts. Well this whole thing started on Weds morning. Had protected sex Tues night same night that I had shaved just before doing the deed. It now been a whole week later and I have no other bumps of any kind. I do have itching but its in the location in where I shave which is very normal for me. The initial bump I had has gone down it has not completely disappeared but it does seem like normal skin and there is no lump, pus, or tender or hard. As I have been reading the herpes lesions are suppose to blister and be somewhat watery. I did not have any of that and once they burst they are suppose to scab over, which I also did not experience. That being said I am aware that the herpes outbreak is very different from person to person and a whole lot of people do not know they even have it since symptoms are easily confused with other issues. After extensive research I have realized that I am freaking out over something that effects 80% of Americans and I already have. Like I have stated I am positive for HSV1 which deals with cold sores but after researching that same strain cause genital outbreaks as well. I already have the antibodies for herpes in my system and probably have for years and I never had a cold sore. So I probably have been expose to the HSV2 in the past with out even knowing it. This STD by far is the most difficult one to curb since either one can effect orally or genitally. The only way to ensure no infection is to literally stay away from sex and even kissing. Since the herpes virus can also effect other areas beside the mouth and genitals I have seem awful photos where the virus showed up on the thighs, buttocks, back, and even the eyes. It makes me just want to stop touching people in general. Sadly I know that wont happen I will just keep being safe and being tested reg.
sometimes when you shave it can really irritate a hair folicle and cause some swelling. the follicle can get infected and cause the pus.
Hi,
Sounds like either an ingrown hair or sebaceous cyst if it's not related to the herpes. Usually neither require doctor's treatment unless they are painful and causing a lot of discomfort, then they need to be lanced. Right now I'd try to keep it as clean as possible and I wouldn't try to get anything more out of it, it just might irritate it more. I usually don't recommend putting anything on it either, maybe a little antibiotic ointment if you must. If it doesn't go away, or gets worse, then I'd definitely make an appointment to see what's going on. Good luck to you :)
