Burning sensations in both breasts

Within the last 3 months on 2 occassions, I have had this burning sensation on both of my nipples. When I look at the areola its looks really red like something is being heated from inside projecting outward. This feelings last for about 5 min but only in the nipples but while this is goin on, I have to take off my blouse, if not the pain will increase more. After the burning sensation goes away there are little black scabs around the nipples. What can this be?

are they burning around your period? It might be a symptom of PMS. I have had little black scabs before on my nipples too, but not all of the time. If it happens again you might want to get them checked. You are not breastfeeding right? my sister in law is, and hers hurt her very bad. She had a breast infection which was treated with antibotics. Good luck!!

my kids are over the age of 6 so im not breast feeding. I just dont understand why i get that burning sensation and then the scabs. this never happens when i have my period and doesnt happen every month just every now and then. Just kinda scary not knowing what is causing this.

I am curious, did you ever find out your problem? Because I have had sort of the same thing, but a few differences. Like when the sun shines on my chest, even through my shirt or even shirts, my skin gets like a sun burn[even in just a few minutes], pain through the center of my breasts and just in the past couple of weeks, I have had this thick bloody paste coming from my nipple, not all the time, but it does happen. Kind of scary due to my mother died of cancer just two years ago, and her mother and grandmother both had breast cancer.
