C-section scar

by nalla, Apr 13, 2007 12:00AM
I had a C-section 22 months ago. They had to cut me a little larger than what the normal is. Everything healed up nicely, no infection or anything like that. But it still itches a lot. I'm not really worried about it because it looks normal and everything, I'm just wondering if it's normal to still itch and if that is something that I will have to just live with or will it eventually go away? Is there something that I can put on it to help relieve the itching?

my mum had an incision done around the bikini line, for a different reason, she tried Manuka Honey and said that it really helped her.

I think it is completly normal!  I've had two c-sections, my most recent being 23 months ago and my scar is still completly numb!  I can feel the are around it, but I have no sensation on the scar at all.  I'm no dr, but I assume that it is from the nerves being cut and never healing back together.  Maybe your itching is the nerves reconnecting or something like that.  Again, I'm no dr, but it's just a thought!
