Can I have a safe pregnancy after a missed miscarriage?

Hi,I recently miscarried. I was supposed to be 10.5 weeks pregnant when I had a pink discharge and I booked in for a scan. During the scan the doctor mentioned that the baby didn't have a heartbeat and that the baby stopped growing at 8 weeks and 1 day. This was my first pregnancy and we decided to have a medical management to complete the miscarriage. It was a very painful experience and the loss was unbearable.
I want to know when I can plan to have a baby again and how difficult it is to conceive after a miscarriage.
Is there anyway I can prevent another miscarriage? Any tests I should before I plan again to be extra cautious?

Please advice.

Hi.  I'm very sorry for your loss, that's hard.  Your doctor is the best source of information.  But for the most part, please know that unfortunately, miscarriage is very common with one out of every four pregnancies end in miscarriage and most of those women go on to have a healthy pregnancy.  So, if this was a regular miscarriage and not a molar pregnancy, you most likely can work on pregnancy again as soon as you'd like and have emotionally healed.  good luck
