Can You Describe Your Abdominal Pain?

I've been googling trying to figure out what might be causing abdominal pain that has persisted for a week now, but am coming up empty handed. I am post menopausal, having gone through the change rather early in life; I am now 55 years old and menopause became official at aged 43.

For those of you with some diagnosis, would you please explain the abdominal pain you experienced?

I am having pain in the morning, lasting about 4 or 5 hours. It is located on the lower right hand side, along the line of my right breast and about 4 inches below my waist. It is a pain, not quite stabbing, but more like someone was pressing a knitting needle into my abdomen. Sometimes it gets so sharp that it takes my breath away. It does not feel like menstrual cramps at all.

My stomach is bloated, but my bowel movements are normal and I have no excess gas and I'm one of those people who does not experience indigestion.

I don't notice the pain later in the day???

Your answers would be helpful not only to me, but to others as well.

Thanks,

Audrey
