Can you get pregnant while on the Pill?

I started taking the pill again back in March to avoid having my period during my June wedding.  I was on the pill for 10 years prior to that time, so when I went back on my body took to it very well...like I never went off.

Anyway, my past 2 periods have been "different" than my normal.  The first one was kinda brownish and clotty and the last one was very light and only lasted for 1 1/2 days.  I've also been experiencing extreme heartburn.  Everything I eat and drink gives me heartburn.  I'm pretty much experiencing all the "pregnancy symptoms"...such as fatigue, crazy cravings, emotional, and my belly is so big.  I've been dieting for the past month and half and my weight loss is extremely slow, too slow.   I've also been around a lot pregnant people, so I'm thinking that maybe it's all in my head.  We weren't planning on having a baby until next year, but if I was to be pregnant, we would both be very happy. Oh also, just to add, I very rarely take my pill the same time every day, but I do take it every day. I forget to take it once about a month ago, but doubled up the next day.  I also took 2 pregnancy test and they were both negative. So what do think??? Thank you so much. :)

I have been pregnant 3 times in the past. The first was when I was 16 and I was on Othro tri cyclin pills and I had a cycle in the middle of my pack and 4 months later had a miscarriage found out the day before the miscarriage I was 4 months with twins all while on BC. I had my son no BC, and my second miscarriage I was on depo.

My mom has three BC babies, My sister is the product of BC pills, I am the product of BC pills and my little brother is the product of an IUD.

Also my sister who is a Phycian's Assistant was put on Prevera which is the pill form of Depo so that she would not get pregnant to save her life (as she has Von Wilbrands and she can die from her period) but she just found out she was 5weeks pregnant. So yes it is very possible.

I have been on the pill for two years now. However, I have been so busy lately that I forget to take it, or take it three hours later than when I am supposed to take it. My breasts have been tender lately and I am having crazy mood swings. Last month I had my period 1 week early which never happened before. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. Recently, I have been eating a lot and craving cheese. Can I possibly be pregnant?
Thank you!

The only 100% sure-fire way not to get pregnant is not to have sex. Period. You can also get pregnant on your period. ;-) I added that b/c my friends paramedic boyfriend assured her 100% that she couldn't!

I like the above posting. Good show.

Yeah, I've heard that even if you get one spot of blood, that's still your period.  I don't think I was late last month and I was late one day this month.  I'm probably just being paranoid with all these symptoms.  Maybe the pill is making me feel like this?  But gosh, my belly looks huge.  I'm probably just overweight and am in denial.  Thanks.

In order to not get pregnant you have to take your pill about the same time each day. If you miss one take as soon as possible and take the other pill at about the same time you take it. Being on the pills can give you many simptons like a pregant women, what it is, is just your body changing to differnt hormones that is all. Just take your pills everyday about the same time and you should be okay. And remember this the pill do not stop std or hiv, and is not 100% efficient.

Id have to say if you have some kind of period the last 2 months your not pregnant. If you are atleast taking the pill everyday or make it up Id say you are ok. But there is always a chance of getting pregnant even on the pill only not having sex is 100%. You didnt say when these last periods were or if you are late yet or not?  If you are really worried about Id make an appt w/the doc.  Good luck!!
