I am a 31 y/o woman who has a history of ovarian cysts particularly on the right side. I have had chronic pain over the last year in my lower pelvic/abdominal area on the right side. I underwent a laparoscopy in feb 07 and an appendectomy was performed. I was pain free for 3 months until the pain came back and so did a 2cm ovarian cyst. My GYN told me that a 2cm ovarian cyst is unlikely to cause the chronic pain I am describing which shoots around to my back. I am currently ovulating and the pain is much worse. I previously had a CA125 blood test in Jan 07 which came out slightly elevated, however, the MD told me since I am a smoker and have IBS, those factors could have contributed to the elevated CA125. I am petrified over the fact that I may have ovarian cancer...based on my symptoms, are these doctors correct in telling me not to worry at my age when the CA125 is not 100% reliable and my cyst is only 2cm? Thanks!
