Claritin or Chlortrimeton during Pregnancy

by hoho123, Jul 12, 2006 12:00AM
My wife has allergy, and she needs to take Claritin twice a week. We ask a doctor, and she said it shouldn't be a problem. But I want get some more opinions here.

Another doctor told me to switch to Chlortrimeton, because it's been used a long time and so it's safer. Now, my wife is already pregnant for 10 weeks. Although we can do nothing about it now, I still want to see if Chlortrimeton or Claritin would cause big problem to the baby

As long as it is original claritin, no D or anything like that, it is perfectly safe. I had a horrible stuffy nose and that is what my dr recomended. Good luck.
