Concerned about discharge

Hi,
I'm 21 and about a month ago my boyfriend (who I am sexually active with) noted that there was 'lumpy' consistency to the vaginal fluid. I had no idea until he noticed as it wasn't obvious as discharge on panties or cleaning etc. Since then the problem has remained, although I don't know if the amount varies.

The fluid contains white lumps, sometimes tiny, sometimes larger. Sometimes there is little normal fluid, sometimes it is very wet and normal other than some lumps.

I researched and have seen details about some infections. However I have no other symptoms, no strong odour, itchiness, soreness, redness, no pain during sex etc. I know the best action is to see a doctor, but I'm extremely shy and would like to know if there is anything I could try first. Does anyone know what this is likely to be? And what has caused it? What action can I take to fix it, are there herbal medicines that are effective for example?

Have there been any cases of this symptom being related to insufficient water intake? Just as I know I am terrible at drinking enough, regularly waking up extremely thirsty and a painful mouth as its so dry. Wondered if lack of water could cause the strange consistency. Although I doubt this has changed in the last 12months, so it is unlikely cause.

Thank you in advance for any responses.

I get the same thing.  I notice a large amount when I use the bathroom.  I asked my gyno about it and she said it was normal and that some women produce more discharge than others.  It still freaks me out when I see a lot in the toilet.  I agree that I seem to have it more when I am dehydrated.  It is probably a combination of regular discharge and an over growth of yeast.  Hope this helps!

Most women have some kind of discharge and it can vary with age, also around ovulation time  -any  Whitish cottage cheese like discharge, smelly,  burning, pain, funny color etc.. something is up!  Drinking plenty of fluids especially water helps the whole body out, Dont be afraid to go to a doctor Believe me they have seen everything!

I think you are describing a yeast infection.  I'm not certain though.  I am not a DR, but what you describe does not sound normal to me.  It's probably no big deal, but you should see a DR. Do you have a regular GYN? You said you were shy, but at your age, and especially since you are sexually active, you really should be seeing your GYN yearly.  Make an appt and take care of this.  You don't want it to turn into something worse.
