Birth control and the morning after pill are two different things. Emergency contraception (the morning after pill) is a high dose of hormones that helps to prevent ovulation in an emergency situation and can be taken up to 5 days after unprotected sex, though the first 24 hours is when the pills are most effective. Regular birth control pills are to be taken every day at the same time for 21 days, then 7 days off (which is when your period comes). Some pills, like Yaz are taken for 24 days with 4 days off, but they aren't recommended for everyone. And yes, birth control pills do help prevent pregnancy, but like condoms they aren't 100%. This is why when you are on the pill, you should still have a backup method such as condoms or spermacide.
well acctually it was like 5 days ago so its probably to late to get the morning after pill, i am acctually going tommorrow to my appointment to get birth control, an i was also wondering if that would be the same as the morning after pill, an if that can protect me from pregnancy also
It's not as likely that you would be pregnant, but still possible. The condom won't have killed the sperm unless it had spermicide (sp?) on it. If it was just a day or two ago you can still get the morning after pill if you're that concerned. You should definently look into birth control though.
