Confused

Hi everyone! Hope I'm in the right forum for my question...A little back ground first...ok. I had a hysterectomy (all but partial ovary gone) when i was 32 am now almost 39. I have always been a very small person 5'4 110-115lbs. with healthy appetite. Now my weight goes about 150 or more. I have gain this weight fairly quickly I think started about 6-8 mo. ago, but my appetite has decreased usually eat once a day, but not hungry. Now, here is to me the weirdest every time I eat I become extremely sleepy. I am very active and do not like this feeling of tiredness and though I admit I've wanted to gain a little more weight (was too skinny) this is getting ridiculous. I've went from a size 4 to an almost 14. Is this normal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Neacee (from the thyroid forum) - get your thyroid levels checked (as Steph suggested) and also ask for your A1C levels to be checked and a glucose tolerance test.

It does sound like you have an endocrine system imbalance.

Have you had your thyroid checked recently? That can cause weight gain. I'd get checked out by your doc and have a blood test done to make sure everything is ok.
