Copper IUD

Two days ago, at the recommendation of my OB/GYN,I had a copper IUD inserted as an alternative to birth control pills that I had been taking for year. My question is...how long will I have the cramping and bleeding from the insertion procedure?

I see you posted over a week ago, you should not be having anymore pain now.  I hope your OB/GYN told you that you will have heavier and probably more painful periods, they do get better eventually.  I have had a copper IUD for 9 years now and it has been great.
