Coronary Heart Failure Patient worried about echo results

by Sportschauffeurmom, Jul 01, 2005 12:00AM
I am a 36 yr old white female, diagnosed with cardiomyopathy at 31 yrs old. A bi-ventricular pacemaker was implanted in 2001 for treatment of CHF. My ejection fraction has improved from around 35% to around 50-55% currently, which is great. However, I am concerned following a recent echocardiogram that indicates:
mild apical hypokinesis, as well as trace mitral regurgitation, trace pulmonic regurgitation and mild tricuspid regurgitation and right ventricle mildly dilated with preserved systolic function.
My cardiologist seems very pleased with my echo and has a recheck in 8 months. Is there reason for my concern, or is this normal for a CHF patient?

This question would be better placed in the heart forum.  Your best chance to be able to post there is between 8a-11am EST.  It may take days to weeks of trying before you can actually post--I think they only get 2 or 3 slots for questions a day.

I'm sorry that I don't know the answer to your question.
