Could I be pregnant?

I'm not sure if I could be pregnant or not, I had sex for the first time on the 5th of this month. I was due for my period on the 12th, it never came so I'm a week late. I'm a little worried.

Was it unprotected sex? I have heard that having sex for the first time can cause a delay in the menstral cycle. I'm not sure how correct that is, but I know I believe somebody had told me that once before. I would wait another week or so, then if no period then I would test. If you get a negative and still no period, then I would suggest to see your doctor about a blood pregnancy test. Those can show up much faster then a urine test. And if your not pregnant, then your doctor can check to see why you have no period. Also by the way, how old are you? It is not uncommon for women to have irregular periods every now and then. I too have heard what niki has heard. I would just be patient and see if it comes on. If you have been stressing about it not coming on when it was suppose to come on that too can delay your period..If you still have that question in your mind take a hpt and see what the outcome is.
