Could I possibly be pregnant?

I had my period in the first week of January. I haven't yet started my period for February. Me and my boyfriend have intercourse unprotected first and pulls out before he comes and then we always put one on and finish. We did this 2 to 5 times between the 15th and 29th of January. I have been having stomach pains above and below my belly button and also cramp like pains, dizziness, hungery after I eat, having to pee 2 to 4 times in a period of 2 hours and that's even if I haven't of had anything to drink. I've even been having whitish-yellowish discharge. And today it was a little brownish. I've been extremely tired and emotional, my chest has hurt a little too,and I have lower back pains. I know it all could be from possibly getting ready to start my period but it is possible that I could be a couple of weeks pregnant too? If I don't start my period soon when should I take a home pregnancy test? If you could provide me with any suggestions and answers that would be great!! Thank you!

Chilover192006 - Chances are, it's your period and you're not preg.  Just like every woman is different, every period is different too.  There are no two periods that are exactly the same.  You've just never had a scare like this before and you're noticing everything about it, and because you weren't scared before, the little things didn't stick out in your head like they do now.  If you're still worried, you can take a hpt still, but there are few women out there that have their period while pregnant especially if it's heavy flow.

Easha06 - Granted, it's not allowed to "piggy-back" a question on someone else's question, but if you've been having unprotected sex and your period's late, you might be pregnant.  Go take a hpt to find out for sure.  If you didn't want to get preg., then it's probably best to use some form of bc in the future.  If you were trying, then here's an early congrats if you are preg.

i would be more than confident that this is your period....period.
all of those symptoms you described sound as if it was on its merry way.
most likely you were worrying about it (peeing more) and delaying it. this sounds like your period. it is very rare for this to be happing if you were pregnant. that is the biggest sign of pregnancy..absence of a period. now i know people have gotten pregnant on their period or had a period while pregnant but its rare.

Well I guess I did start my period the other day....It was really light though but today (sorry if I gross anyone out)it was red and really heavy and watery. My periods have never been watery before. So there is no chance I could be pregnant right? I'm still having stomach pains off and on. The pains will hurt really bad for like a second and then go away. Usually after I have started my period I dont get pains. What could it be? Just my period? Or could I still be pregnant? Should I still take a test after my period? Thanks again!

thanks everyone for the advice but I have another question....today I had really bad cramps off and on...I'm bleeding a little but not as much as I normally would if it was my period because my periods are really heavy. The blood is brown and like I said not very much flow to it. Have I started my period or not? What could it be? Thanks! By the way I was going to get a test this weekend to make sure. Is that a good idea?

you can take an hpt now and feel confident about the results. get first response early result because it tests for only a small amount of the pregnancy hormone, and with this one you can test as early as 3 days before your expected period.
you can test now.
if u're on the first day or later of a missed period (which it sounds like you are) then you can just buy the cheapo pregnancy tests, if you look for the 'no name' brand you can probably get 2 tests for under $10.

Actually, avoid the first response early result, they have been getting a pretty bad review as of late. Lots of problems with evaporation lines, disappearing positives, etc. Save your money and pick up the Answer Early test. They measure at one of the lowest levels (25 mui) and are much cheaper, wal-mart sells them for about 7 bucks for a two pack.

Given the details in your post, you could have gotten pregnant. Wait until your period is late before testing, save yourself the headache of wondering if it was too soon to tell.

You could definitely be pregnant.  It sounds like you had unprotected sex around the time of your ovulation, if my calculations are correct.  I doubt you would be having symptoms so soon, but anything is possible.  Day 1 of your cycle is the first day that you start your period.  Let's say that Jan 1 was the first day of your period, that was a Sunday.  The typical/average cycle is 28 days, so if you follow the standard, then your period should have started on Jan 28, or right around that date.  Women think they have a "monthly" period, but actually, its a 28 day cycle.
The way you are having sex is a recipe for pregnancy...the withdrawal method is not a method at all.  You should protect yourself from beginning to end, or use another type of birth control.  All that said, you are safe to take a HPT.
Good luck--MH
