The depo shot is effective within the first 24 hours, however as said above you should always use condoms in addition to your birth control---especially when you're starting a new one. It is VERY rare to get pregnant on the Depo. Just because it happens to a few others doesn't mean it happens all the time. Most of the times a female is pregnant on it is when the pregnancy is too early to be detected and she gets the shot while already pregnant. The early pregnancy signs (Which I'm assuming are the stereotypical fatigue, nausea, increased/decreased appetite, sore breasts, frequent urination, weight gain, etc etc) are all also typical side effects of Depo. If you really think you are, take a pregnancy test with first morning urine. However, the odds that you are, are slim.

Thankyou, i  herd that to that i shouldnt get my period.
but after words i herd that the depo needle only completly settles in after 2 weeks of being on it.
So, not having my normal period got me worried. Also after reading other people getting pregnant even on the depo needle.

thanks,

To my understanding, I thought you weren't supposed to get your period while on Depo?
You should always still use another form of birth control, especially when starting out a new one for yourself. Condoms are always the best to use along with the pill.
As far as symptoms go, you can't really rely on symptoms as a tell tale sign of pregnancy.
