Cramps...

So, I figured out that after I stopped taking my birth control pills my period are really bad, but a week or so after my periods I get this really severe cramping in my lower abdomen like where my uterus is and then the cramping goes to my butt and I'm not sure what's going on. I just had a baby about 6 months ago and have never experienced any kind of pain like this in my life. This never happened before I had my daughter. I was just wondering if any women out there experience this too? Or should i see a doctor about it? All i know is that it hurts really bad and I don't know why.

Gas can cause really sharp pains.  It would be my guess.  Try the Benefiber.

yea i'll try that i'm not so sure that that's what's going on. these cramps aren't those dull painful cramps.. they're really sharp pains that last for a while throughout the day.

I would try two things:  take potassium (or foods rich in potassium), because potassium is supposed to be good for addressing muscle cramps, and take a stool softener like Benefiber (very easy to take, no flavor or graininess) in case it might be something relating to gas (like, having the baby affected your intestines in some way).  If neither thing has any effect, I would see a doctor.
