Cycle after Depo??

by Tiffanifanee, May 30, 2007 12:00AM
I started the Depo shot in November.  I then had my second shot in February.  I am trying to concieve now so I didn't have my third shot (that I was due for this month--May).  Since I haven't been on shot very long and only had 2 shots, shouldn't my period come fairly soon?  I know that it won't happen overnight.  I was only due for shot 2 weeks ago.

No...with depo...anything is possible...so I've learned.
My dr. told me it can linger in your system and may take up to 18 months for a normal cycle to return.
My last shot was Feb 06 and my first normal cycle was this month.
I have learned that coming off depo is much worse than being on it.
Many many side effects...hopefully you will only have the whacky cycle....nothing more.
Good luck..hope AF returns soon!

Jacksyn is right, everyone is different and anything is possible. I had a period the entire time that I was on it and for about 3 more months or so after. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully your hormones will be regulated soon.

after depo for me as soon as i missed a shot i got my period right away but for my 2 sisters when they got off the depo  it took them a little over a year to get them back so everyone is different..... you can also go to your gyn and ask for the pill that brings on your period and help get it back regular
