Dark Brown light period blood

The second to last time i had sex was 3 weeks ago. i got my period 1 day later, as normal (i have taken ortho-lo for a year). Then 5 days ago i started having light flow, dark red period blood one week prior to when my period should start. now that i am on the period week, brown discharge is continuing; my regular period hasn't resumed. Two days ago i had sex for the first time in 3 weeks. i read responses to a similar question, but i really don't think i could be pregnant- we usu always use condoms in addition to birth control pills. so what could be going on?

Possibly the Ortho-Lo is not strong enough for you anymore and it's making you irregular.  Ask your doc about switching to regular Ortho TriCyclen.

can some help me? I had my last period on 21 august then about a week later i got brown discharge for two day and also had littie red spots.Im normally have a 28 day cycles but last months i was 26. I've done a test and it come back negative so im not sure what going on but there no sign of my period come

After a year of trying you can now go see a fertility specialist to have a work-up done on you and your husband to see what the problem might be.  They can help you.  

That is weird about having brown discharge only a week after your period.  I'm not sure what that was about.

Ok, I am actually a male.  However I am commenting in concern of my girlfriend.  About 2-3 weeks ago me and my girlfriend had sex.  She is usually on birth control but the week leading to us having sex she had to stop taking her bc because she had a sinus infection and the doctor said not to take the two medicines together.  I very rarely use a condom.  The day we had sex she was supposed to be off her period, however when I got home there was fresh blood on me and my shorts.  Then about a week ago (she is still off her period and shouldn't be starting for like two weeks) she began telling me she was bleeding and it was really dark.  This lasted for about three days or so and now she is cramping and having some minor pain.  I don't know what to think about this.  I have done a little research and saw that this happens with a miscarriage.  But then I also saw it can happen when you are pregnant.  I found this site during my search but I noticed that these comments are like two years old so I hope someone still checks this site and can help me.  Thanks.

Also, while she was having this dark bleeding we tried to have sex and she said it hurt really bad.  And she is also a dancer and she had to stop dancing because it hurt bad.

Some time when you have sex you can torn and this will cause bleeding. When you have dry sex is the cause of the torn. Go see a doctor. Or she could have a pid and not all pid is a std.

I just turned 37 last month and had sex for the first time in a year.  My period came on and my blood is not red it is a brownish-orange kind of color.  I am scared something is wrong.  Please help  me

Hi, I've been bleeding for like three weeks, I came on before my regular period and it continued until my period came, and now it still hasn't  gone away after my period has stopped , and it brown, can someone help me and probably tell me what it could be.

I thought I came on my period 2 weeks ago but it was very light for 1 day then I spotted for a couple of days which is really rare for me, im usually heavy, then I began getting dark brown stringy clots in my underwear and didnt think anything of it as I know it is usually normal but it has been going on for about 2 weeks, its not smelly so no infection and no pain but im concerned about it and why I havent had my period. I did a pregnancy test which came back negative should I try another one? I didnt think I was due my period until about now so am so confused as to whats been going on? Can anyone help

ok so monday night i began having hotflashes tuesday more hotflashes the tuesday nights i started to have mild cramps and when i went to go pee i had a light pinkish spot on the tissue that followed a light period that im on now but it seems to b going away so i would b on my period for just 2days three if it last till 2morrow could i be pregnant or having a miscarriage o and b4 all this my breast have been really tender

My period came 3 days late and when it did it was a very, very dark brown and seemed to be very solidified. I'm on the pill and my boyfriend and I always use a condom, but I'm very concerned about all of this. No one has seemed to be able to help me except to "reassure" me and tell me that I'm not pregnant and nothing's wrong with me. I'm still very unsure and I'd like other people's help. I'm going out and getting a urine test tomorrow, crossing my fingers it comes out negative.
