Dark brown discharge. I've never had a period before.

Hi! I'm 12 and for 3 days now I've been having dark brown discharge and its been getting heavier and heavier. I've had a growth spurt, I've had breasts for 3 years and normal discharge for 2 years. I have pubic hair as well. My doctor said she didn't expect me to get my period until next year and I was just at the doctor last week. My mom didnt get her period until she was 14. It doesn't smell so I don't think it's an infection. I talked to my mom and she said it was probably my period, but what do you think??

Hey, I know what you mean. I actually didn't have major breast development before I hit my period, or as a matter of fact, after I was on it. It was hard for me because I had no cramps or anything to let me know that my period was coming. I think you should ask your mom about buying you some pads, that way you'll have time to get comfortable wearing them, especially in school. Just remember that you aren't alone and this is something to be proud of. You are becoming a woman, and that is nothing to try to hide, but I don't recommend flaunting it either. I wish you luck with your problem.

Sounds like ur period coming.  Or it is ur period.  I really don't think there is away to tell exactly when ur period will come..  and just bc ur Mom had it at 14 doesn't mean u can't get it earlier Ya know? I was 11 when I first got mine. N think my Mom was like 12-13 so just depends on ur body n if u have breasts. Ur starting puberity
