Dark brown

I just found out I have Polycystic ovary syndrome. I have not started my birth control treatment yet. But I was lightly bleeding for two days and still did not start. My period heavy. Then day-three days later after the light bleeding. I noticed this dark thick brown discharge. I usually dont have discharges. I don't use protection. And I still have not started my period yet. I have slight pains but I have high pain tolerance. What is this discharge about? Should I see my doctor?

Brown discharge could be old blood.  Sometimes your body can take some time to adjust to birth control and have what you would consider a normal period.  I would discuss it with your doctor at your next appointment (maybe a phone appointment if offered and you want to know sooner!).  I know my birth control (Microgestin) has written on the little thing that comes with it not to worry unless two periods in a row have been missed.
