Depo Question

I took my first depo shot on October 25. My period was about a week early which surprised me a little, but this month I have not had my period. Everything I have read about depo says it should take close to a year for my period to stop, but I was wondering if any other women have skipped a period the first month after taking depo or should I be worried.

Thanks guys. At least now I know im not the only one. Everywhere i asked I was told it wasn't normal to not have my period this soon after taking the shot. I was worried that the depo didn't work and maybe i had become pregnant. I finally decided to take a test this morning and it was negative.

I think , though it has been a long time, that after my first shot I had one really heavy period, and that was it. I hven't had a period since. Even when I got off the shot for 3 months there was never even a sign of spotting. It affects every woman differently. Some keep their normal periods, some get irregular periods, and many experience no periods at all. I have never even heard that it should take a year for your period to stop, and that doesn't even make sense to me as the hormones would affect you a lot faster then that. Anyways, your completely and absolutely normal, but if you were really really worried about it you could ask your doctor, but I am positive he/she will tell you the same thing.

When I was on Depo, I don't even think I ever had a period, just light spotting, then it faded. That was after the first shot. Everyone is different and it will affect everyone differently. I think your fine.
