Diagnostic mystery

by nflynow, Jun 25, 2009 07:41PM
My 24-year-old daughter has had right ovary pain for three years.  She went 24 months with no period, lost some hair on her head, started growing hair in weird places, and began developing cysts on her ovaries.  She's had two laps where they removed some cysts and endometriosis, then had her gall bladder out.  She experiences pain during sex and has frequent bladder infections after sex.  The pain had gotten so bad that she is now taking huge amounts of prescription pain killers and they cannot take the pain away, only dull it so that she can function.  She is seeing an outstanding reproductive endocrinologist and he thinks the pain is because of scar tissue on the ovary and wants to remove it.  However, he doesn't really feel that will solve the problem of the cysts and endometriosis.  Please -- does anyone have any ideas?  She's had so many tests and is so depressed.  No one should have to live with pain like this.
