Discharge after depo shot

I had my first ever depo shot on 12th May, which was also my first periods day. Normally my periods last 3 days but in this case, by 13th they kind of disappeared. Since then to date, I have been getting kind of a discharge, sometimes bloody, other times just brown, no smell. It's unpredictable, but each time I pee, I get some blood on the tissue. Haven't been able to have sex since then cos of this.

Is this normal?

I know this is REALLY late, but i was looking for an answer to something and this came up so i wanted to comment for the future readers..
You guys really need to talk to your doctors more.. I started Depo in november, and its my first REAL birth control (i've always been pro-condoms before) and the things you mentions besides the polyps. was all mentioned to me. First, my doctor told me eventually my period could end, i didnt expect it to be 2 months into it. Yes, i still get a SLIGHT discharge daily, and slightly more when my "period" comes, but nothing horrible. i dont even have to wear tampons or pads, its pretty controlled. As far as sex, me and my boyfriend have had sex on my full blown period before, so this wasnt a big deal, but if it really concerns you, shower sex is always a safe method. or, take a shower before sex to clean up a bit. but really,it's not that noticeable if you skip this.
As far as the baby, my doctor straight up told me "if you plan on having kids in the near future, i would advise against this. The longer you are on the shot, the longer it takes to get fertile. Sometimes a year or longer" but this didnt concern me, as i only just turned 21 and have NO PLANS on having a kid within the next 5 years. hence, a birth control i go in for every 3 months. if i could have gotten the mirana i would have.
and as far as your weight gain, im sorry, but that's YOUR fault. that's another thing my doctor told me. yes, most people can gain up to 20 lbs, but it is NOT THE SHOT that is doing this. it's not taking your calories and turning them into fat. the way she described it to me, the depo has a hormone in it, that gives you the same hormone that you get when you are pregnant for cravings. so you CRAVE more food. and you tend to eat more without thinking. BUT if you eat something healthy in replace of this food, or tell yourself you're not really hungry, its the shot, then you'll be okay. i starigh up asked her "so, im going to be hungry, but as long as i eat a granola bar instead of cake, i'll be okay?" "honey, as long as you only eat a slice and not the whole damn cake you'll be okay" I have not gained a SINGLE lb since i started depo. my cravings were only in the beginning, and i actually fluctuate LOSING 5lbs. nothin to be proud of like "omg!! i lost 2 lbs today!!" they'll be back in a few days, but i havent gone over my starting weight.

so, this may be a pointless post, but maybe one person will get the answer they need in the future.

Yeah the doctors are full of **** I'm on my second shot and I've already lost 25 lbs. already being a pretty small 5'2 and 135 lbs in good athletic shape. I eat more than I should and have been the same size since 7 grade. I'm now 18 and since the second week of the shot have been loosing weight. My doctor told me it was all about "calorie intake" when I asked about weight gain and loss before getting it. Its definitely a ****** up birth control and I'd say doesnt work without some kind of problem for the person on it 9 out of 10 times. My other 3 friends have already been on it and taken off from weight loss problems. The protective lining it makes in your uterus also shed excessively for me after my second **** for a whole month, and the doctor literally told me that she couldnt help that the only thing she could do was give me some medicine that would dry things out, but wouldn't make sex comfortable. Which isn't the whole point of birth control to be able to have sex?? Don't trust your doctors, mine lied and left several details out. I don't recommend Depo to anyone it also weakens your bones permanently and takes a hella long time after getting off of it to get pregnant healthily.

Hey, thanks for the advice.
So what I'm experiencing is normal?

How did depo do that to you yet it has no oestrogen? For my it's the better option cos I can't use oestrogen, my progesterone is really low, and I need to gain some weight too.

Word of Advice-  GET OFF DEPO!  I took it for two years, it made me gain 50 pounds in two months, made me extremly moody, bled on an off with no warning for the first 4 months before it leveled out.  However, the worst is that it messes up your bodys hormone balance.  It is never good to stop your period.  I now have polyps in my uterace from too much estrogen.  My doctor thinks it could be related to my Depo use, since I was fine before I took it, and don't have a history of them in my family.  All of my women problems began after starting Depo.  Please take my advice and use the pill.  Any form of birth control that stops your period, although it seems like a godsend, is not good for you at all.
