Discolored period

Hello, I'm Mel.

Earlier this week my boyfriend and I had intercourse. We used a condom. It didn't break or leak or slip off with my knowledge. ButI still got fear after 2 days. We went to the hospital, I learned I wasn't pregnant but I have a pelvic infection. They gave me antibiotics for it. (Doxycycline) Yesterday I got my menstrual period but it seems rather discolored than it usually is.

...

A friend of mine told me girls who are pregnant could still have a period. I'm nervous about how it's discolored. I do a search online and I find nothing on the sort. Perhaps I am overparanoid.

I remember the nurse saying I wasn't pregnant, but 2 days could've been too soon.

I'm afraid. I wonder maybe the period I have is just discharge from one egg and another egg is implanted or something.

I probably sound insane, but I don't want to freak my boyfriend out with my paranoia and drag him to the hospital again.

Why are you worried about pregnancy? Based on your scenario, you would not be pregnant. You don't have anything to worry about.

If you have an unwarranted fear of pregnancy from protected intercourse, maybe you are not psychologically in the right place to be having sex at this point? Sometimes we put ourselves through agony like this, just to punish ourselves because we aren't ready.

If I am reading this right, you went to the ER 2 days after having sex and the nurse said you weren't pregnant.  A pregnancy test 2 days after sex would not be accurate.  a pg test is accurate until 10 days after ovulation.  More than likely if you were pg you wouldn't test positive until 10 to 14 days after you had sex, if it was around your ovulation time.

I hope this helps.  As for the discoloration I am not sure, never heard of that before.
