The Keeper is very similar to the diva cup. It is a rubber menstrual cup that is reusable. It looks like a rubber shot glass with a stem at the bottom (for pulling it out) and holds an ounce of fluid. It is made by women for women, and should last at least 10 years. I figured as it is normally used to prevent blood from leaking out, that maybe it could be used to prevent something else from leaking out too. Here is a link to the keeper http://www.keeper.com/
Thank you again, for all the responses, and for your good humour as well. Take care, Nadine.
Please describe for the losers out here...
What is the "keeper". I'm obviously missing out on something.
I can't BELIEVE it! I would never have guessed the Keeper, b/c I didn't think anyone had ever HEARD of it!
I'm a loser! Oh, NO! I HAVE ONE, and I didn't guess it! It just seemed too "out there" to be what you meant!
Dang.
In a pinch, you just might be able to MacGevyor a rubber garden hose into working!
Na_dine, I've heard the same thing about the Keeper.
I'm so relieved it wasn't the garden hose! Whew!!!
Great thread, today will be boring.
HAHAHA!!! Thanks for being such a good sport, Na_dine! This thread turned out to be a good one.
Like mslkpage said, that "keeper" thing can be used to aid conception. It won't harm the sperm.
Na_dine, you're not going to believe this, but I was going to guess the Diva Cup, which I believe is similar to the keeper. From what I've read, that can be done to aid in conception, especially if you have a tilted uterus. I haven't heard about whether it will work using a diaphram, though. Good luck, and thanks for having a great sense of humor!!
Hi,
that was a funny conversation. So, what kind of rubber you ask.
Here goes. I was thinking about how to keep sperm "in" longer, to give them a better chance. I thought about how diaphragms are used to keep sperm out, and I was wondering if suck a barrier could help keep them in, without harming them. I was also thinking of the Keeper, a rubber 1 ounce vaginal cup sort of thing (meant for mensus). Thank you for your replies, they made my day. Nadine.
It affects them, but doesn't kill them.
Garden hose, maybe?
well, they make a Rub my Ducky Jr. for $15. who needs all that duck anyway?
$15 dollars for a duck isn't bad. Sold!
I'd be more impressed if it was a rubber tazmanian devil.
How about a rubber tazmaninan devil mousepad?

...the above tazmanian devil mousepad...
with 4 wheel drive and sport treads, and super water spray capacity, with all the interchangeable heads, so you get maximum spray ability!!!
Ya'll are killing me.
Oh my gosh, you girls are hilarious!! =) I am also intrigued, I hope she does come back and explain!
I know! I keep checking the thread for nadine's reply, but all I've found is dildos, duckies, and devils. :)
What else do you need in life? HA HA HA!
Maybe she meant "a rubber"...like the slang for a condom. Maybe we should answer assuming that's what she meant.
A condom alone will not kill sperm. It just provides a barrier so that the sperm don't get into the vagina/cervix. That's why most condoms come with a spermicide, so the sperm are blocked, and killed!
Hope this answers your questions.
We weren't making fun of you at all. We all like to laugh...sometimes even at ourselves.
But the whole point of a rubber (condom) is to prevent the sperm from doing their job. So of course that kind of rubber would affect them. So that couldn't have been what was meant.
But good try!
I think $20 is excessive.
I do laugh mostly at myself. This is true. :-)
But na_dine said "adverse affects" and so I'm going to assume she does not mean a condom. If someone is worried about adverse effects then they don't use condoms. Overall though, na_dine, she's right - rubber should not hurt the sperm.
I'm intrigued by the rubber glove idea... What made you suggest that one?
Great - my coffee just came shooting out of my nose. Garden hose. Too funny!
A rubber tire would have an adverse affect on sperm, though.
