I did the Lupron injections also. It was terrible, my blood pressure went out the roof. The doctor said that was not one of the side effects that Lupron was not causing it. After I quit taking the injections my blood pressure was normal again and has never went up since. The only thing that helped my endo. was laproscopic surgery. After finally having two children I had a hystorectomy. But the good thing about the surgery was I became pregnent within 3 months after each surgery. We had gone thru 10 years of fertility treatment. Good luck
I'm sorry to here about your endometriosis woes. it's a wicked disease and no cure is good. I had it in the early 1980's and the treatment then was get you pregnant or an experimental drug called danazon that had a laundry list of side effects that were scarey. 2 weeks after starting that drug I went to my ob/gyn with this list of side effects and asked if it was because of the danazol. My dr. replied, "if you wake up with horns sprouted on top of your head tommorrow consider it a side effect". i spent 9 hideous months on it which resulted in a hysterectomy on my 24th birthday.
To make a long story short though is getting pregnant still an option for you? it's got to be better than taking those synthic hormone nightmare treatments they use for the endometriosis.
Good luck and I hope it gets better for you.
Hi Nalla and Shawn! Good to "see" you!!
Ickkk ... Lupron, I am so sorry you are suffering.
The only thing I can think of (and I know it sounds kinda weird and I know it's a long shot) is to try some bioidentical progesterone cream. Look into it.
I was a huge skeptic but I know it has helped me.
There are theories, and they are unproven (whole debate there) that estrogen dominance or unbalance causes some of these problems. I wish I had known about it before my hyster, I would have tried it. I have some friends who have had good results with it. In Canada, it's a doctor's prescription and you take it to a compounding pharmacist. My doctor is very, very conservative and he said OK, you can try it. I use it to balance the estrogen replacement I am on (no ovaries).
It can't hurt you, it leaves your system within hours and you can't overdose or anything. Have you read any books by Dr Christiane Northrup? They helped me.
Best of luck to you....
Katie
Nalla: I don't have a clue, but I just wanted to say I'm so happy to see you back here. I'm sure one of the experts will be on soon to give you some good advice. I know that others around here have missed you too!
Hugs,
Shawn
