Excessive Sweating or Hot flashes?

I'm a 57 year old woman who has been plagued with excessive sweating, which comes on suddenly and lasts for about 20-30 minutes, three or four times a day. It starts at the top of my head and works its way down and I am literally dripping wet. I was on HRT for almost two years but when off of it when it was judged not safe. Even when on HRT, I had the problem. Therefore, I concluded that the problem was that I lived in Florida, and it is very hot and humid here. Am I wrong? Can these be hot flashes?

That really sounds like a hot flash. I understand your decision to avoid HRT. Have you considered taking herbal supplements to balance your hormones naturally? One that I took for PMS is also said to be highly effective for post-menopausal hormone balancing. It is called vitex or agnus castus or chasteberry - they are the same thing. Do a google search for vitex and menopause and see if you feel it will work for you.
