Explaination of Test Results

by Mumzie, Apr 20, 2007 12:00AM
Recently suffered from bloating( looked pregnant, pain, lack of bowel movements, lack of energy, etc.etc. several scans i.e. (mri, cat, sonogram, etc. etc.)They diagnosed me as IBS patient.  my Doctor is on vacation & test results after a sigmon/colon procedure showed there were no polyps but they took 3 biopsies but no explaination of what is up!!!  My "stand in" Dr. started to read my last year tests which resulted in my have surgery removing part of my tail bone and a mass between that and my rectum I, needless to say, felt like I was dealing with an idiot.  Here are the real results:
atherosclerotic change, colonic diverticulosis, right ovarian cyst formation.  These are since my last surgery in May of 2006.
Should I be concerned?

I am definitely not a doctor, but the results don't sound life threatening.  I think it may mean you have some diverticuli in your colon.  I am not sure what the atherosclerotic(does this mean hardening?) change means, have you tried searching the net for that one?  The cyst formation is quite common.  I would let your regular doctor know what happened with his "fill in" doc.  I wish you luck.  I have IBS and it isn't any fun.
