Exteremly swollen Vagina after sex

My boyfriend and i had sex last night and immediately after my vaginal lips became extremely swollen on the left side..i woke up this morning and they are still very swollen..My question is, is this normal?? And when do i expect the swelling to go away..and this was my first time having sex so can that play a factor in this or could it be that i might be allergic to the latex???

It sounds as though a lot of people have swelling after sex but that the swelling goes away in a few days. If it's rough sex that causes the problem, then the answer is simple - avoid rough sex. Another cause of the problem could be simply that hands are often not as clean as we think they are, so it's a good idea for couples to make sure their hands are clean and have nothing on them (traces of things like hair products or household cleaning products can be invisible on hands) that could cause an allergic reaction. Latex sensitivity from condoms could be a factor too, of course.

Another reason for pain and swelling could be thrush, particularly if you have discharge as well. If you suspect thrush, then you can buy creams or a capsule to treat it, without a prescription. Thrush can arise at any time, but is particularly likely to be a factor if you've been taking antibiotics.

In all cases, if your swelling hasn't gone away within a few days (3 - 4 maybe) or if you're in bad pain, then you really should visit your doctor. Please don't let embarrassment stop you from doing this, as doctors won't find your problem any different from any other medical matter. Hopefully it will just be irritation, but it's always better to be on the safe side.

well seeing as for the past year or so everyone on here has had the same problems, but not really been given answers. however my problem is different and im scared ********.

last sunday me and my boyfriend had sex while we were out camping. and we hadn't had sex in almost a month and i had just gotten off my period. well, the first time we used a condom, the next two we didn't. the next day it hurt/birned to pee and walk and sometimes my vagina would hurt so bad id be between having an orgasm feeling and crying. (weird, i know)

we've had sex twice since then and the first time hurt like no other, the next day was ok though.

but now it always hurts to pee, and if i even tough the entrance to my vagina it hurts like no other, and if feels like theres a bump at the base of the lips, but it hurts/burns to touch it.

oh, and i do have type 1 diabetes that i don't have full control over if that has any effect.

advice??? or something close to a diagnosis???

I've had this experience but it has never gotten so large as the others above have said personally i have been looking to find what was wrong with me seeing that this only happens when i have had sex with my boyfriend and i believe it to be what is called Bartholin Cyst where the Bartolin gland which produces the wet fluid during arousement Do to certain bacteria and back up the and the fluids will build up and cause swelling seeing that most people who  have blogged have here have and orange size swelling you have a bluild up in both glands on each ide of your vagina if you expience this lage swelling you should see a doctor this site below can give you more detail : http://drdelgadoob.com/BartholinCyst.html
it should give you enough info to decide for yourself if this is what you may have
