Extreme pain during external pelvic ultrasound

Today I had a Pelvic Ultrasound both internal and external. I was having this test because I have Primary Hypopituitarism and therefore have Growth Hormone Deficiency and therefore make little or no estrogen. However, since my diagnosis 9 years ago at age 17, I have never had the tests to see what exactly things looked like, or how they worked in that area hence today's ultrasound. My new doctor also could not do a proper pelvic exam, because it caused me so much pain, which was a first for me.  Anyways, the radiologist first did the external ultrasound and as he pressed down with the little device, I thought I was going to die the pain was so severe. I have rarely ever been in so much pain my entire life. It was 10 minutes or so of pure hell. Funny thing is, when he did my internal it did not hurt nearly as bad, in fact it caused me almost no pain at times. I just wanted to know if this was normal or not, and if not what you think could have caused the pain. I am afraid it could be cancer of the bladder or something, because when my grandmother had a ultrasound a few months ago for her stomach, she reached out and grabbed the nurse in pain, when they pressed the device on her stomach. We later discovered she had stomach cancer, which was removed and she is doing fine now. what do yawl think?

I am unsure of what the cause would be. I had the opposite reaction to an u/s I reciently had. I had tenderness with the pelvic but with the transvaginal one I had extreme pain. I would say that since the trans vaginal one didn't hurt- your pain is probably not related to your reproductive organs. Maybe your stomach or something. I do not think it is normal to experience pain like that though.

btw... I'm 5ft tall and 153lbs. I'm overweight due to the steroids I am on for my AI. And my lower abdomen is still pretty sore this morning especially when I bend over or bend it in any way and it's red and swollen I think due to an allergic reaction to the goop.
