Fibroids

by RAWINA, Feb 27, 2007 12:00AM
I HAVE BEEN HAVING MID CYCLE SPOTTING FOR THE LAST SIX MONTHS. MY OB DID U/S WHICH SHOWED WHAT THEY SAID A SMALL FIBROID IN MY UTERUS. ALSO MY PAP WAS UABNORMAL FOR THE FIRST TIME,I WAS HPV+++.( I am on prednisone for Crohn's disease). She said I have LSID. SHE DID COLPOSCOPY AND IT WAS NORMAL,SO SHE ASKED MY TO RETURN AFTER FOUR MONTHS FOR PAP TO MAKE SURE EVERY THING IS OK. TODAY I DID GO FOR PAP AND SHE TRIED TO TAKE A SWAP FROM THE UTERINE'S WALL TO MAKE SURE NOTING WRONG WITH IT. IT WAS NOT FUN AT ALL, IN THE END SHE COULDN'T,BECAUSE,SHE SAID, SOMETHING IS STOPPING HER BY PLUGGGING THE UTERUS CAVITY. SHE SCHEDULED ME FOR ANOTHER U/S ON FRIDAY. SHE SAID IF THE FIBROID IS STILL THERE, SHE WILL REMOVE IT, SO THE MID CYCLE BLEEDING WOULD STOP AND BETTER CHANCE TO GET PREGNANT(WE ARE TTC). The lady who did the u/s said it is a small fibroid and pushing on the cavity of my uterine.DO YOU THINK BCP COULD HELP ME? AND, IF SHE REMOVED IT WHAT IS MY CHANCE TO GET PREGNANT?PLZ ANY IDEA COULD HELP.( AFTER THE PAP I STARTED MY PERIOD RIGHT AWAY, TWO DAYS EARLIER THAN IT SHOULD BE, I HAVE 28 DAYS REGULAR PERIOD). I have one baby boy, and during labor 2 years ago , my cervix was ruptured. the dr had some hard time to fix it, Do you thing he did plug my cervix or did it wrong and I can't conceive any more?I can't afford IVF and I am 37 yrs old and dying to have a baby I have no relatives or family except my husband and son,so I like to have my own family. Please help me.

I'm not too sure about the fibroid, but I believe that after it is removed your chances of conceiving are very good.  However, my concern would be the ruptured cervix from the previous surgery.  It sounds like you may have some scar tissue at the opening of the cervix. It should not be impossible to conceive, but delivery would need to be done by c-section as you would not dilate.  If you are not having problems with af then sperm should not have any problems intering.  I hope that I helped you out a little, as I am trying to answer all of your questions. Best of luck to you!
