First time at gyn! HELP

Ok so I'm going to go the the gyn pretty soon bec i think i have yeast infection. i read that i might be having to do a pap smear test. Now that thing that the doc will put in my vagina looks scary (I googled for the pics)- i think its called a seculum or something. i HEAR its painful and very uncomfortable. Can someone please tell me about this. I've developed a headache thinking about it.

I can assure you, you'll not have any problems during test.   I have had it done a few times now, and even the first time, I asked the doctor when he was going to do the examination and it was already finished.   Relax and you'll be fine.   All the best.

It can be a little uncomfortable but it really isn't too bad, especially if you RELAX. If you tense up so will your muscles "down there" and it will be more uncomfortable. Getting a pap done takes seriously 10 seconds so it will be over in no time. All the speculum does is open your vagina walls so the gyno can see your cervix, it isn't any bigger than a penis, it wont hurt.
