When someone has sex for the first time does it hurt? I heard it can be very painful but if it is how could I prevent this? I will appreciate any help.

unlike many here, sex for the first time didn't hurt me at all!!! in fact it was awesome, it was with the person I loved the most, and i still remember it with a big smile in my face. Make sure you are VEEERY aroused....I was, and i believe that helped....we were NOT planning it, so that helped too, but were prepared =) , you have to be responsible too! ;)
It might have been a little uncomfortable for the fact that it was new to me, but painful? nah!......it was good! =))

hey there,
I lost my virginity when I was 17, I'm 19 now.  Just make sure you stick to your morals and standards about the kind of guy you want to lose your virginity to.  Sex did hurt/was uncomfortable.  It get's better though as time passes, the pain can't be that bad if people push through it and keep having sex right? =) Take care and be safe!

i think every lady will experience pain but that depends on how ur partner will do it.. i mean if it is possible give your virginity to someone who u really love coz it's worth it..it's good to suffer the pain first then enjoy the pleasure after specially to someone you love so much and that pain will remind you that "hey! i'm a virgin" and after that you will say "hey,im real lady now"

I was surprised, but my first time was actually quite enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend everyone to do things as I did with knowing a guy as short of a time that I did, but I think my first time was good because I drank just enough (alcohol) to relax me. I wasn't stupid drunk or anything like that, but I was lightly buzzed. I recommend this for anyone on their wedding night: drinking a little bit of wine or other beverage that won't have you passed out after a couple of sips... That wouldn't be much fun, especially in the morning (hangover). But anyway, I'm now married to the same guy that I had my first time with and the way we met and married doesn't happen every day. I wouldn't recommend  meeting and getting married in less than a year, definetly not to my daughter. I hope she doesn't give me the kind of heart attack that I gave my mother (I doubt that's going to happen.) It just happened to work out for me and my husband and we've been going strong ever since, but it doesn't work for everyone. It won't always be comfortable, but make sure your first time is with someone who you're SURE loves you and will do everything possible to make you as comfortable as possible.

Make sure your partner is not a jerk, first of all.  Secondly, go slow...use lubricant and RELAX.  If you're tense, it will be uncomfortable.  Sex for the first time for me was uncomfortable, but not unbearable.  Also, you didn't mention your age...that matters.  If you're unsure of it all...please just wait.  Once you've done it, you can't get your virginity back.

It didn't hurt for me.  Maybe a little uncomfortable, but not painful.  Sufficient lubrication and arousal is very important though.
