Foul Smelling Odor after a Partial Hysterectomy

I had a partial hysterectomy 6 weeks ago and have noticed this awful fishy smell.  It is driving me crazy.  Does anyone have a way to stop this? It isn't an infection been checked but have not had any clear answers!! Thank you!!

I know you said you've been checked, but an odor that is "foul smelling": is not normal.  In your case, I would suggest that it could be an infection, since you've previously had surgery.  How long has it been since you've been back to the doctor that performed your surgery?  Don't try any home remedy, feminine sprays, etc.  You need to be cautious since your body may still be healing.  How long has the odor persisted?

I think that you should call the surgons office and go see him.  As a nurse I wouldn't let that linger as it could mean an internal infection.  Don't play around with that.  After 6 weeks you shouldn't be smelling anything

I also had the same problem after my surgery.  It's a bacterial infection which should be treated with antibiotics.  My doctor prescribed Metronidazole 500 mg tablets.  You take this course of medication twice a day until completion.  Also I will warn you that this infection will reocurr if you allow your partner to ejaculate without a condom.
