Funky smell?!

I'm 22 and the mother of 2. I recently started have a foul oder with a discharge that is white and sometimes a brownish yellow, No itching, burning or anything like that. Its happened for the last 2 or 3 months right after my period. It has went away in the past. But I would prefer not to have it at all! My husband is kind and doesn't say anything, but I know he smells it and Its so embarassing! Is there something I can do to prevent it? I shower daily sometimes twice b/c if I can smell myself, I know others can too.  I don't douch, Dr. recommends you don't b/c of ph. Any Advice?!

If it were BV wouldn't it continue to have a smell? I don't think it would just go away after a few days?!

It sounds like BV (bacterial Vaginosis) and it requires a antibiotic. Symptoms can range, but the most common is foul odor usually fishy with a thin white to grayish discharge. I have read where it could cause a brownish discharge as well.

Its usually brownish the first day after but after that its white so I don't think its the old blood. Thats why I'm concerned. But like I said it only lasts a few days.

Is this discharge with smell only short lived and immeadiately after a period?
Could it be that the brownish discharge (old blood) are the remains of your period? You see, blood can get a bit of a 'funky' smell when exposed to air for quite some time......it also turns brown.
If this smell only lasts a few days while your body is clearing out, I personally wouldn't be too concerned.
If you suffer with smelly discharge most of the time, then I'd seek medical advise incase its something bacterial like bv
