Gas

I am 7 weeks pregnant and I have been having gas and indegestion bad.  I eat and then end of feeling horrible afterwards no matter what.  I try to eat small meals, but sometimes it doesn't always work.  Anyone have any ideas?  My stomach sticks out and I look like I am 5 months along and it hurts.  I know that sounds stupid, but that is the way I feel everytime after I eat.

I found out with both of my sons at 16 weeks. My first was a girl and didn't know til she was born. Had a strange duck for a doctor and he said I had no need to know. For all I know he was sued for being wrong.LOL Then with my fourth, was told it was a boy at 16 weeks. Even have an U/S pic with a little arrow pointing and the word boy typed in by the tech. Well at 34 weeks had another U/S and the tech asked if I knew the sex? I told her Yep it's a BOY! She looked at me and asked who told me that? Since she had NEVER seen a boy with one of those before! LOL My DH KNEW it was a girl, he ws right for each of them, and when I took the new U/S results to him I let my oldest girl tell him the news that he was right all along. And with the last, She would NEVER open her legs, so never knew til she made her entrance. So odd that I knew with my boys but was totally in the dark with the girls.. Oh and I was totally into sweets with all my girls. Salads, spicey, salty, etc.. with my boys. Maybe there is something to that.
I hope you get your results for Christmas and let us know!! If the tech doesn't want to tell you just let her know that you are just looking for a guess, that you know and understand it may not be accurate. They really are not wrong very often.
I wanted so badly to post on your other thread (s) but oh my they filled up quickly! And today is already full and it's only 4 in the morning!! I'll try again tomorrow.
Just know that I enjoy reading your posts. You crack me up and then get everyone else feeling great and laughing. In my opinion, that is just as imortant to a woman's health as anything else and totally belongs here! You did good girl!
Merry Christmas, hopefully you'll get the beauty makeover every expectant mommy deserves!

hehehe, I'm 15 weeks and booooooy let me tell you, it comes out at the oddest times. I've been super constipated so I fart all the time, sometimes it builds up and builds up in my tummy and I'm hurting SO bad! then I let one slip and its the best relief I've ever felt. lol.
Indegestion happens ALL THE TIME! I'm constantly burping, and sometimes food comes up with the burp, totally grose... And heart burn too. Yikes that burns sooo bad.
When I eat, my tummy pushes out too. It fills with gas and food, then later on it goes down as it digusts and fart.
Hey they say that being pregnant will bring out a blunt side in ya. LoL, I feel totally open talking about this stuff, waite until the baby comes and you gotta deal with the poop, throw up, crazy things they say and ask.... You wont be shy. :-D

No kidding.  I had no idea what you have to go through when you are pregnant.  But I will make it through.  Is it true that you feel great after the first three months?  That is what someone else told me.  They said you feel better after the first three months than you ever felt.

I hate to tell you this but NOT ALWAYS!!!!!!!  When I was pg with my DD 7 1/2 yrs ago I was nauseous for the whole 9 months.  I could eat ho ho's or Suzy Q's with chocolate milk for breakfast and that is the ONLY thing that would settle my tummy.  Now with my son who is 15 mo. old - I did NOT want a lot of sweets with him and I did feel better after the first trimester.  Hopefully you are one of the lucky ones and you will feel better soon.  Let's hope so.  Good Luck.

Well I am not in my 4th month I feel okay but I wouldn't say GREAT that is a stretch. I have had a fairly easy time. No morning sickness or anything really except headaches and at my last visit they started telling me things are wrong with me so I'm definately not feeling great.

Yeah I will probably not be feeling all that great then, but I hope.  Every single day if different.  Today I feel ok and I am glad it is better than yesterday!  Thanks for all of your advice!

Another good med for gas is just plain old GasX, simethicone is not absorbed by the body, so can be taken whenever the bloaty feeling hits. It also works wonders for babies (brand name for them is Mylicon)

Tums, rolaids, store brand (I like Kirkland brand from costco) were all great while I was pg. They have the multi-symptom ones, but they aren't as effective for some reason.

Yes I was going to suggest the tums as well.  Get the flavored ones - They are not that bad.  My SIL carried a bottle with her at all times and I think she lived off of those things for a while LOL!!!!!  It should let up for you at some point but in the meantime - Try to hang in there.  Good Luck - Hope you feel better soon.

The things we go through just to have a baby LOL  :o)

Yes, indeed, pregnancy and motherhood take away any sense of modesty when it comes to bodily functions ; ) Just wait until you have toddler/preschooler obsessed with them!! Even though Jonathan always says excuse me after he "toots", he still announces it to god and everyone, even if it was quiet. In the middle of a store he'll say something "excuse me, I tooted quietly" kind of makes me giggle.

10 years ago I never thought I would find myself discussing my cycle with people on the internet, but low and behold, it has happened, lol.

Enjoy every twinge, pain, or ache. What seems irritating now is someone elses dream. Feel blessed that you get to experience those pains in the name of nourishing a little peanut.

Merry Christmas to all the gassy, backed-up, vomitting, achey mothers to be (and all those waiting to enter that phase!!)

I laugh at your comment. My mother said the whole time she was pregnant with me, all she could eat was HO HOs. I had to put my two cents on that on. It brought up good memories.

it's best to wait until your 20 weeks, by then everything should be developed, but i've heard of people finding out sooner.

I found out with my second at 12 weeks, with my first at 20 weeks. When they schedule your 20 week scan, they should be able to tell you then, provided the baby cooperates, lol!

I am wondering to. I have 2 girls and all I did was crave sweets. I had chocalate sundays the whole time. Yeah, and that is why I went from being tiny to huge. HA HA. I am trying now for a boy. Hopefully, that will be the case and want gain that much pounds. That could be a wives tale to. HA HA.
