Getting my period back?

  
I had endometer ablation done over 6 years ago for heavy bleeding,it resolved my problem because I never had any period after; before surgery I had to be on the pill to control the bleeding.I am now 6 years after the intervention and my period seem to be restarting ,I find that kind of odd, did it ever happen to anyone after so many years. I know that surgery is not always successful and  sometimes your menstruation can be restarting  even after 1 year or 2  following surgery but 6 years ? . I am 51 and no symptoms of menopause
