Getting ready to start Clomid

My doctor gave me Clomid and I'm just waiting to start my period so I can start taking it.  I've never known anyone who has taken it, so I'd like some feedback as to what to expect, side effects, success stories, failures :(...  If there's anything I should know about anythign to do to increase my chances of pregancy, I'd love to hear them.  Thanks!

I took 50mg of clomid for 5 days (cd 2-6). I had to do 3 cycles before I got my BFP. The only side effect I had was extreme pain when I ovulated. I took some tylenol menstrual and stayed on the couch all day. I am currently 10 weeks 5 days pregnant.

I took it for 3 cycles before I got my BFP. I was on 100mg days 3-7 and am currently 10 weeks 1 day. It does work and my side effects were very painful ovulation and headaches.

i jus did my first cycle of clomid last month, i took them on the 5th to the 9th day 50mg. i got hot flashes every afternoon, nothing that i couldn't bear, and im 4 days late for my period, soo im keeping my fingers crossed. i did a test yesterday but it went negative, so im scheduling to another test sometime in a few days i guess, the waiting s dreadful. best of luck to both of us.

I hate to sound negative, but so far Clomid has not worked for me.  I have taken 50mg days 5-9 for 2 months and it did not work.  I am now getting on 100mg so hopefully that will kick start some ovulation.

Hi everyone.  I've just finished a cycle of 100mg of clomid days 3-7.  The most common side effects were hot flashes and pain during ovulation.  Today i had my progesterone level checked and was told it was at 29 and to take a preg test in 8 days from today.  Does that mean there is a high possibly of being pregnant?
