Going off the pill and no period

by Frances0730, Jul 18, 2009 09:38AM
I went off the pill two months ago.  I had the usual period from the birth control pills after finishing the pack.  Since then, I have not had a period.  Nothing.  I am also not pregnant, all the hpt I've taken have been negative.  I'm very worried and concerned.  I'm not trying to get pregnant, but my husband and I would like to starting trying in the next 6 months. I'm afraid that this a bad sign and I might have problems trying to conceive.  Admittedly, this is all I have been worried about for the past two months!  My doctor said that it could take 3 months or so, but no one I know has had this problem when stopping the pill.

I went off the pill the first week in May at the end of a pack.  I also had the normal bleeding at the end of the pack but have had nothing since.  I had spotting 1 day but nothing since.  I have taken hpt tests too and all come back negative.  My doc said the same thing about the 3 months.   Waiting for the 3 months is hard as it worries me and every once in a while I will think I am going to start (i.e. have symptoms of bloating, cramps, ect.) but nothing happens.  I have hears stories that it can take up to 6 months but I hope not as my husband and I are ttc.  Hopefully we will both have AF soon :)

Thanks!  At least I know that I am not alone.  I still have not started, and I am trying to worry less about it, but I know it just makes it worse.  I also get the PMS symptoms too, but nothing ever happens.  Hopefully soon...

I have the same problem.  I was on the pill for a few years till my older sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I had one period when I finished but that was over 3 months ago.  I get the PMS symptoms (cramping, bloating, irritable) but no period. Its very nerve wrecking!! But I am gladd I am not the only one =)  Heres to having our periods!
