Gushing postpartum bleeding after bleeding slowed

by missyou, Jun 18, 2007 12:00AM
On June 1st we lost our little boy. I was 4 months pregnant and this was a first time miscarrage (miscarriage) for both my husband & I. Well last week the bleeding subsided and got browner, but tonight I started to get cramping in my back and stomach. All this subsided last week and now is starting again with some gushing. It isn't heavy bleeding and looks abit like there maybe some fluid with it. Is this normal? I have 2 little girls and have been through postpartum pains before, but never experianced this.

Miss-

My prayers are with you and your family at this tender time.  Lean on the Lord for help.
Everything really sounds normal, except the restarting of the heavy cramping and bleeding.  Did you have a D&C?  Has your Dr. assured you that all products of conception including all the placenta have left your body.  Have you had lab test to show a negative pregnancy test?  If so, this shows that all POC have left the body.  There are many variables.  I think you should call your OB-GYN if you soak 1 pad in 1 hour or less or if your pain and cramping increases.  Or just call them for peace of mind.  That is why they are on call.  Again, sorry for your loss.  I do pray for you happier and many more fertile years.
