Guys

Hi;

I still have issues with my ex, and it's a bit scary living alone again, so I just finished a women's self defense course. One technique the instructor recommended was the testicle squeeze, where you grab one testicle and squeeze as hard as you can for like 20 seconds, and the guy supposedly passes out like turning off a switch.

Now, that sounds like a great technique if the opportunity presents itself in an attempted rape situation since the guy won't even know you are trying to defend yourself until you start to squeeze, and then in theory it's too late for him.

The only problem is, the instructor had never actually tried it, or personally knew someone who had. Strangely, my boyfriend won't let me try it on him (and he claims to love me...).

Now I know that a man's testicles are very sensitive to pain, but I have absolutely no desire to cause an attacker pain -- that just risks him getting angrier & more violent. I am only interested in totally incapacitating him, so he simply can't function. Done right, I know a kick to the knee or punch to the throat can do that. But just squeezing or kicking his balls? Actually make a drink-crazed attacker unable to function for at least 5 minutes?

Since no one will let me try it on them, I'm asking if anyone out in the big world has had any real-life experience they would share. Can you really incapacitate someone like that? Or does it just hurt like buggery.

I attended a self defense course offered by my college. We were instructed that if the attacker has a loose scrotum sac it is actually better to grasp one of his testicles, twist it as much as possible and jerk hard. This move should tear the spermatic cord and/or detach the epididymis from the testis causing debilitating shock. You can even do it with both of your hands, each testicle in one hand which would basically castrate him. Brutal, yes, effective yes.

Here is the REALITY! The "nut squeeze/testicle squeeze" IS a MYTH!

I train in martial arts and in mma. I have been in fights outside of tournaments. I have been hit in the balls and had someone attempt to squeeze my balls. Neither move worked! Here is why:

1) He has two free arms.....
He will punch, kick, bite, guage your eyes, stab, and headbutt you while you are trying to squeeze his nuts. Remember you only have ONE free arm. Imagine your attacker grabbing your head with his free hands and sinking his thumbs into your eyeballs! OUCH! Now that would take him ONLY 2 seconds to do! YOU would be the one incapacitated! The worst part is you wouldn't be able to stop it if he is stronger with only one arm! Example:
Tell your boyfriend he can with FULL force punch, kick, eye guage, bite, and headbutt you if you allow him to squeeze his balls. If he truly tried to defend himself you would be the one in pain!

  2) Stop watching movies!
Getting a good hold of the testicles is NOT as easy as the movies make it! In a fight there is consistent movement. While you are lowering your hand to grab his nuts he will be punching your face! And if he connects you will be out cold! Not good! He won't just hand you his nuts! Also a rapist would control his victims arms during the rape so the testicle grab would NOT be easy. Besides everyone knows what a testicle grab is so even an untrained attacker would prevent the grab! Also pants make the testicle grab less effective.
By the way the attempted grab made me even more angry. Didn't even notice ANY pain.

  3) Adrenaline....
Non-fighters forget that there is a powerful pain-killer ALL people have called "adrenaline". In a lot of cases it's not until after that the attacker feels the pain. Which is too late for the victim!
I HAVE been hit in the nuts before during a fight and I DIDN'T feel any pain! It wasn't until after that I felt it. Like I said it just made me more angry and voilent!
Athletes fall over after a nut shot because they don't have that adrenaline rush that someone gets in a fight or life or death situation.

   4) Enjoy it...
You may think you are hurting your attacker but in reality some sick men enjoy a testicle squeeze and you are only making them more excited and voilent! That is a proven fact! In the case of a rapist this wouldn't be good!

In conclusion the testicle squeeze is a myth if used as the sole technique! And in fact may make matters worse for yourself. It is a technique that is taught by non-street fighters. The BEST move you can do to incapacitate your attacker IS the eye guage! PERIOD!

The eye gauge will incapacitate anything! It will be permanent so the attacker can't come back after you. Forget the testicle squeeze/nut grab which is USELESS and UNREALISTIC against an aggressive attacker and instead go for the eyes!

I couldn't keep from laughing when I pictured someone asking their boyfriend if they could squeeze their testicles for 20 seconds to see if it worked!

As a male, let me first say that no matter how much your boyfriend loves you, no one in his right mind would let anyone squeeze his testical for 20 seconds.  The pain would be unbearable.  Any kick or trauma to the testicles is incapacitating.  Even a slight graze can be excrutiating (my five year old playfully and accidentally punched me in the testicles and I was down for the count for about five minutes).  In short, although I don't know about passing out, I can guarantee that a good kick or punch to the groin will give anyone sufficient time to escape an attacker.  If you can actually get ahold of a testicle and squeeze it with sufficient force, even for a few seconds, you would definitely incapacitate the man.  It hurts even thinking about it.

Can't imagine why your bf won't help you with this one. Yes, it can happen. There have even been a few rare cases where men have died. Try googling "neurogenic shock testicle," and you will find an explanation of why that happens. BUT, 20 seconds is a long time, and you can bet that the perpetrator isn't going to just hand his nuts over to you without a fight. I would consider that something to be done as a last resort.

All I know is that whenever I've seen a guy get even accidentally kicked in the nuts they can barely move for like at least 5 minutes if not more - so I can only assume squeezing their testicles would be no picnic! Incidentally I'd go for both not just one if I could and who cares if I hurt them and incapacitate them at the same time as long as I get out alive!!!
