I would rather have someone answer this question only if you ABSOLUTELY know for sure(maybe a doctor), i hear all types of answers to this question and im not sure which one to believe.I'm a bit scared...so I'm turning 18 next month and my mom might take me to get my first pap smear, Ive had sex only one time and it was I believe 3 months ago, maybe 3 and a half...but will the doctor be able to tell if I'm not a virgin?? And if so, will they tell my mom?(even if she asks, will they tell her?) She cannot know, if she knew I would be in SO MUCH TROUBLE!

This is a member to member forum and anyone is welcome to answer or comment on posts.  :>)  Doctors won't check to see if you are a virgin.  They don't care.  Really.  They do not care.  And at your age, you can certainly request to be in the room with the doctor by yourself.  However, they are going to ask you if you are sexually active. They want to know because a young girl like you needs information if you are sexually active.  You need reliable birth control options, an STD check and info to prevent STD's.  That is responsible sex.  I understand your parent not wanting you to have sex and feeling like you are in trouble since you did if they find out.  But that is also sad you can't be honest with your mom.  A doctor, again will not be looking for your hymen.  They are just trying to do their job and check your health and do the pap smear.  They can tell if it is there or not, but you can have a broken hymen from more than just sex and they don't hold the same judgment about an intact or broken hymen that your mom does. good luck

If you are 18 they shouldnt tell your mom if you ask them not to. I was 18 and was pregnant, my mom didnt even know I had sex. I was honest with the doctor and they were not allowed to tell my parents because I was of age. If you are unsure and want a for sure answer you can google your state hippa laws. or call the doctor and ask as a general question what their policies are.

I hope this helps...sorry I am no doctor but I have been in your position and as long as you are of age they dont have to tell your parents.

What if my mom straight up asks? Do they have to tell her because she's my mom? Sorry I'm just so paranoid about this
Sweetie I dont think they can disclose it either way you are 18. Dont talk down on your mom, even if you think she deserves it though. Your mom cares about you that is why she is concern about this.

But you are old enough to make your own decision. I do think you should be at least honest with the doctor, because like special mom says, this is something important to your health for them to know. As for them telling your mom if you are a virgin or not they wont, and they have no right to. stop stressing and be relax. I just hope you are being safe.
