HSIL How serious is this

Hi,

My mom had a papsmear and here is what the Doctor wrote on the report and asked her to get the Biopsy done. Can anyone please suggest what this means.

Impression : Atrophic smears with foci suggestive of hygrade squamous intreapithelial lesion.

Mild Anisonucleosis. Background shows Neutrothils. Adequate smears show begin squamous cells with few clusters of phroma polygonal cells that exhibit nuclear hpercia.

I really appreciate if anyone can explain to me what this means. I am too worried about it.

Thanks a lot.

Hopefully by now you know how your Mom is. I hope everything is ok. I was just searching for cervical biopsy info and came across this:

I'm going in for a biopsy tomorrow and am terrified, so I have been doing a lot of research.

take care!

Thats good news. My Moms Biopsy results will come on Tuesday. I am very worried about it. My question was based on the Dr's remarks does that mean she already has HSIL. Does that mean it is going to lead to cancer.

Hi I don't know what ALL those words mean but I had an abnormal pap b/c of squamous cells and I got the biopsy which wasn't bad and they found I had HPV which can turn into cervical cancer.  But I didn't have cervical cancer and the HPV has since cleared up.
