Has anyone had hyperemersis?

by starbucksluvr, May 14, 2007 12:00AM
Ok, I'm 6 weeks PG and I'm worried. With my first child I had Hyperemersis, I lost about 35 lbs and did not start showing until my 5th month. I'm just worried that I'm going to have it again and i know " every pregnancy is different" according to my doctor and everyone else. Has anyone else had hyperemersis and if so how did you deal with it? Thanks :)

I had it with my dd 3 years ago.  They told me when I got pregnant this time around that "every pregnancy is different".  Different my B*U*T*T!  I had it just as bad this time around.  But they did tell me I could take Unisom and Vitamin B-6 at bedtime and that has kept mine under control this time. Thank God.  I had it the entire 9 months with my dd, I was still throwing up in the delivery room.  It was terrible.  I hope you have better luck this time.  But if not talk to your OB about meds, whether it be with OTC like I did or phenergan or another prescription medicine.

I am currently PG with my second kid and I had hyperemersis with my daughter, who is now ix, throughout my WHOLE pregnancy. Thats actually how I found out I was pregnant at only 5 weeks I couldnt hold water! I am 7 weeks along at this point and although it isnt as bad at the first, I am definitely showing signs again.

In my first pregnancy I spent 6 months in and out of the hospital because of it and no amount of phenergan, zantac in my IV for heartburn or chicken broth made it easier. I pretty much suffered the whole time. I am praying this child takes it easy on me!
