Having multiple issues, doctors aren't sure... anyone have any ideas???

I started out throwing up on a regular basis, at least once a day about 1.5 months ago. Went to the ER once becuase I was throwing up water...couldn't keep anything down. They said I had a UTI, and didn't know what was causing me to be sick. But gave me some medicine to make me stop throwing up and an antibiotic for the UTI. I had a UTI about a month before that, with symptoms and had been on antibiotics for it then as well. Since have been to regular Dr., and she sent me to a stomach Dr. He did an endoscopy, and said that everything looked ok. He did say however that there was blood in my urine and my white counts were high, which looked like a UTI. My regular Dr. has since put me on Cipro for the UTI and said to take it twice a day for two weeks and come back to be tested. Well, I am still taking the Cipro, and am no longer throwing up. (They put me on Protonix for that, too much acid?)The past week however, while on Cipro, i have felt worse - sore throat, weak and tired, just lousy in general. Had intense pressure while attempting intercourse. Felt like something was going to push its way out of my body. Pain was on the lower portion of my stomach, as well as my back. Since the intercourse attempt, my lower back has been hurting to the touch as well as a constant dull pain. Any ideas, or has anyone had these syptoms before? Kind of worried. Doc said she might send me to a urologist if this doesn't help...

I was regularly checked, and my lithium levels were always low. Thats what I was told anyway. I will talk to my doctor about the test that was mentioned if the cipro doesn't do the trick. I don't feel right now that it is going to, because she said that three days should get rid of it and the rest was for good measure... but, still having problems. Thanks for all your input, hopefully we will get to the bottom of this.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response. Here are your answers.

1. She took a specimen. Said there was blood and my white counts were up. Said she was going to send it off to a lab to see if anything grew in it and to see if it was resistant to any drugs. She said that the Cipro should knock out "anything" that might be going on inside of me, though.

2. I do not have any of these symptoms listed.

3. I do not have a burning pain when i urinate. I had a burning pain in my stomach, just under my ribs on left side when i was throwing up. thats what made them think possibly ulcer. it is gone now. but, have been on protonix, so if it was the excess acid causing that, it should be under control now.

4. The pain on the back seems to be on both sides... and it does seem to move. hurts when I lie on my back... as well as to the touch and like I said before during intercourse.

5. The doctor did not advise any other tests at this time. Suggested that I take the cipro for the two weeks and see if that helps anything.

6. I will look it up, but what is: Excretory Urography... and what makes you think I need one?

7. I do still feel nauseated.. but, am not vomiting now. I feel like i am going to sometimes, still gagging at times, but try to hold it down. My teeth started hurting real bad while i was throwing up so much, so I am trying to keep from doing that. The endoscopy was fine. He said that everything looked normal. He saw no damage. He was the one that told me to go back to see my doctor

I am bipolar, though am not currently on any medications. I stopped taking them after vomiting for a month, in case they were causing it. I have been off of them for about a month now, and feel fine as far as that is concerned. i was on welbutrin (150mg) in the morning. Klonopin during the day as needed. Lithium (900 mg time released) and Seroquel (100-500mg) every night. I was afraid that the lithium might have been affecting my kidneys, so just came off of everything. Every time I went to the Dr. my lithium levels were low, and i drank plenty of water trying to keep anything from happening. I had gained at least 30 pounds since being on the medicine, and have been trying to exercise to get it off. That stopped when I started vomiting so much. Am getting back into it now. My psychiatrist said that as long as I feel ok, i am welcome to stay off of the medications and see how i do.

My boyfriend keeps saying maybe it is all in my head, and though I may be certifiable, I know real pain. This is pain... and not in my head. just hoping that someone out here may have some advise on what to do, or how to further approach it with my dr. to get the best results. So many of you out there know so much more than I do. :) Thanks again!

This is in regards to your bipolar/medication comment:  I take Wellbutrin and Seroquel as well.  I also take Lamictal (small doses of all three).  I take these b/c they have the least amount of side effects and weight gain was my primary concern given family obesity.  None of those meds cause weight gain (Wellbutrin can actually cause weight loss) or any other serious side effects.

Right, I know that the lithium caused the weight gain. I was on it for about 3 or 4 weeks before starting the welbutrin because I had a severe manic episode. Anyway, I felt good for a while... but, hated taking the medicines. Especially having to take the seroquel every night to get to sleep because the welbutrin took me so far up. I would sleep so hard i wouldn't hear anything. I was scared something would happen, like the house falling down, and i would miss it. I also started having horrible dreams, which were due to one of the medications. They were so real i would wake up scared i was going to hurt someone, and hoping that no one in my house would come in my direction (i was dreaming i was cutting people with swords and there was blood everywhere). That has stopped since stopping the medication as well. I tried to talk to my doctor about chaning the lithium to something else, and he said that since i was regulated he didn't want to change it. He left and my new doctor said that i could try not taking any of it and see how i did, since it was my first "really bad" episode when I started the medication. Now i dont' have as much energy as I did before, because I am not taking the welbutrin, but I am not depressed either. I also am noticing my weight decreasing. I have lost about 10 pounds since I stopped taking it. I am working to do it though. Had lost more when I was vomiting so often, but that has leveled off and feel like I have some energy and am able to work out and stuff now.

I hope that I can stay off the medicines for good, but at least for a long period if not. I really am not a big fan of popping pills, and i am definately not a big fan of taking them every night so i can get some sleep. I am sleeping fine right now too, which is a blessing in itself.

Thanks for the info!! :)

Sorry, left out that I am 27 years old, didn't know if that might play any role or not.
