Heavy period longer than usual...

I recently posted a question on here detailing my recent pain. On January 1 i woke up with a pain in my lower left hip. It wasnt severe or anything, it was just a constant ache that I continuously had to deal with. By January 8, it moved from just hip and thigh pain to sporadic severe abdominal pain and cramps. My period also came this day, two weeks early, with heavy bleeding and clotting. I have been getting periods since the age of 13/14 and I am now 21. They have all relatively been the same and never lasted longer than 4 days. It is now day 6 and it's still here, with the same heavy bleeding (no clots though.) When I originally posted it was thought to be an ovarian cyst that was passing. Yesterday, I went to Urgent Care as it began to hurt my back lower right side when I took a breath in. They didn't run any tests and basically told me I could be confusing the symptoms I was feeling - prior to the pain when breathing -  with period symptoms. I have had cramps a handful of times since getting my first period so I do know how they feel, and these are not ordinary cramps. It hurt to sneeze or put any pressure on my abdomen. Instead they told me I had a UTI and sent me on my way. I've also had two of these before and I do not have any of the usual symptoms. It does not hurt to pee, I do not feel as though I have to pee all the time, and if I press on my lower abdomen all I feel is pain, not the urge to use the bathroom. Also, I now am constipated as it hurts my abdomen to bear down and also nothing comes out.

I'm coming back to ask what could be the cause of such a long heavy period? I was not pregnant, and I did not do anything to induce an earlier period. This is very frustrating for me as I can't keep ruining my underwear and not knowing whether I'm going to make it worse by taking antibiotics I may not need.

SB: I was given medicine for the UTI, naproxen for my pain (which has not helped anything, I still feel the pain when breathing and sneezing - especially deep breaths), and a probiotic.

Hi. I think I talked to you on your other question.  :>)  Normal for periods is up to 7 days which I know is long for you but you are not outside a normal period yet so a doctor would not be concerned at this time.  Sounds like, though, the urgent care you went to wasn't really trying to help you.  UTI's have classic symptoms.  Now a kidney infection might have different symptoms and is painful.  Overall, I'm not sure you can trust what they are telling you.  Do you have an ob/gyn you can go to or a family doc or general practice doc/internists hat you've seen in the past?  I still think it can be a cyst as what you describe is the pattern I had when I passed a cyst--  longer than usual, heavy and painful period.  But it is hard to just read someone's words and really know.  so, if your period goes on past the 7th day, please see a regular doctor and not an urgent care doc.  (they often just want to move you out of the office rather than giving you long term care.)  Do you have another doctor you can go to?

I haven't yet found a doctor that I can see right away. My gyn can only get me in on March 3 which is way too far away for me to just ignore my symptoms. I told myself (and my boyfriend) that if my period isn't gone by Sunday this week that I would be going back (but a different urgent care if I can't find a doctor). I am going to find doctors that will accept my insurance and that can get me in within the next week tomorrow. There is a family doctor I went to when I was living with my parents in HS that I could try, I'll give them a call.

Also, you did answer my other question, I should just come to you for advice lol. Thank you so much for all your help.
